CDPSet: Another Gem From Tafweb

By John D'Angelo

I have TRS2004 and TRS2006 installed on my computer as do many of you out there. My pet peeve was getting downloads from the Trainz Download Station sent to the correct program. Right now there are numerous items available for download that work in TRS2004, but do not fit the requirements of TRS2006. When I added TRS2006 to my computer it “grabbed” all the downloads and installed them into TRS2006, but I really wanted the items to go to TRS2004.

Eventually there were suggestions about how to overcome this problem. One suggestion that I followed was to activate the program I wanted to download to, and then do the download. Sometimes this worked and sometimes the dang download STILL went to the wrong program. Hellllllllllllllllp!

Terry Franks to the rescue!

Terry Franks, also known as Tafweb, who created that great program TrainzObjectz, has created a new, easy to operate program to solve the problem. The program is called Cdpset. Although the program is labeled as a Beta program, and Terry may make changes to it at a later date, I have had no problems at all using it to download items into TRS2004 and TRS2006. It has made the process an easy and trouble free operation.

The shortcut to Cdpset as it Looks on my Desktop.

Just activate the program and you will get the menu seen below:

CDPSet Menu.

It’s that simple! Just pick the program you want your CDP files to go to. Once you have made your choice, the CDP files will continue to download to that version of Trainz until you decide to change the destination. Very simple, yet very helpful!

You can download CDPSet from Terry’s web site at: http://www.tafweb-trainz.co.uk/software/cdpset.exe

Thanks, Terry!
