About Us

Virtual RailroaderTM and V-ScalerTM are wholly owned and operated by Alfred Barten. We are railroad and railroad simulation enthusiasts. The content on our web sites is available to the public, free of charge for private use. All material is copyrighted by its creators and remains the sole property of the creators. No material may be republished in any form or reused in any way for commercial purposes without the expressed consent of the copyright holder.

We support our efforts through Google ads and the sale of railroad simulation software and hardware. We are legitimate USA resellers of Trainz software, operating as part of the Trainz on the Road (TotR) program by Auran (creators of Trainz), and we purchase RailDriver hardware directly from the official USA supplier for resale to the public. We also buy and sell miscellaneous software on an ad hoc basis. Most of that software is brand new and in its original wrapping. Any deviation is clearly stated in the offering.

Privacy

We track the number of visitors to our web sites. We do not acquire, create, keep or distribute lists of visitors. We do keep records of sales for our own accounting and tax reporting purposes. This information is not shared with others, nor will it ever be.

When you buy from us through our online store (VR Pro Shop), the credit card transaction is carried out via PayPal through secure lines and processing. When payment is made, PayPal notifies us via email of the buyer's name, address, items purchased, and transaction date. We pack and ship the order promptly. We do not see or have access to any of the credit card information involved.

Although the credit card processing is carried out by PayPal, you do not have to open an account with PayPal, though you can if you wish.

Returns/Cancellations

You can cancel any order prior to shipping. Once an item has been shipped, our return policy applies. We reserve the right to cancel an order that does not meet our published offer or if we are out of stock and unable to replenish it in a timely manner. We will notify you of any cancellation and return your payment.

We accept returns of damaged or faulty merchandise and merchandise you are unhappy with.

We will replace any damaged or faulty merchandise or give you a full refund of the purchase price, collected tax, and shipping.

We will refund purchase price and collected tax on any item you are unhappy with.

All requests for returns must be made within 30 days of purchase.

Please notify us and request further instructions before returning any merchandise.
