Rich provided the 3D graphics for the VMRJ web site as well as contributing articles to VMRJ. Rich, or Slugsmasher as he is known in the Trainz world, has been a Trainz modeler since January 2003 using gmax and most recently 3dsMax4.2. His interests lie mainly in narrow gauge logging and short line railroads. He has been a model railroader since 1975 and also volunteers on the historic Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad on prototype locomotive crews. He has created numerous Trainz content items for the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes project with the Trainz Narrowgaugers group and for his own West Side Lumber Co. project. Rich lives in the Pacific Northwest region of the USA on Whidbey Island in the state of Washington with his wife Trish. He currently serves as a Senior Chief in the United States Navy and regularly deploys to various parts of the world where he enjoys traveling on the many train systems he encounters on port visits.
